A Pear Affair

All artists and craftspeople can attest to the attachment that develops for certain projects.  Many studios, workshops, and hobby houses have been the subject of renovation in the name of "making room" to keep what was supposed to go to show... ten years ago.  You just feel connected to certain pieces.

I have pined away for Giant Pear since we parted.  I actually took every piece of art off the walls and filled the holes in attempt to start anew and forget the empty spot left by Pear's departure.  No luck.

Thus, today my grief became monument.  In honor of the original Giant Pear, I give you the shockingly resemblant sequels of Pear II, Pear III, and Pear IV.  I have now been "fruitful and multiplied".

Sorry, Pear fans -- this produce is priceless!

Pear II, III, and IV

Original Giant Pear is now retired and enjoying the sweet life with four of my very favorite people!  You can view original Pear under the Paintings link, A La Carte tab.

"Alert & Oriented"... Most of the Time!

And, there is no topic for this week... there was no post for Monday... and, while this is technically a post, it is barely so!

The most appropriate description of my adaptation to my schedule this week is this: organizing and collecting myself to move from one place (or task) to the next has looked a bit like... well, herding gerbils!

"Findings from assessment... the patient is a human.  This is within normal limits."

"Which patient?"

"Let me check... just a second."

(Okay, so it hasn't been quite that bad... yet!)

Wishing you wholeness of health this week!

Labor Day Projects!

First project of the Labor Day holiday began to rise at 11pm last night!  It is (or... was) a cinnamon-stuffed braided roll, and I'm now a cinnamon-stuffed rolly-polly!

Next on the list: 1) Summer decor in the closet, Fall decor on the walls/furniture; 2) paint a frame; 3) paint a picture for the frame; 4) deny the impending return of the schoolweek.  Happy Labor Day!
